Tourism at the forefront of technology, sociological changes and trends
Coming in Friday morning after a trip abroad, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State for Tourism to the Minister of Europe and Foreign affairs, has painted a glowing portrait of tourism in France. “France has become the most visited country in the world and, in view of the first half figures and the first trends of the summer, we should keep this position in 2018. The number of arrivals has risen from 4% to 5% in the first six months”, he explains. “We are now working to increase the revenue per tourist because it is true that France is a little lagging behind other countries. But INSEE worked on a revaluation of our tourist recipes and in fact we had €10 bn of additional revenue, or nearly €53 bn”, he added.
