Tourism at the forefront of technology, sociological changes and trends
Coming in Friday morning after a trip abroad, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State for Tourism to the Minister of Europe and Foreign affairs, has painted a glowing portrait of tourism in France. “France has become the most visited country in the world and, in view of the first half figures and the first trends of the summer, we should keep this position in 2018. The number of arrivals has risen from 4% to 5% in the first six months”, he explains. “We are now working to increase the revenue per tourist because it is true that France is a little lagging behind other countries. But INSEE worked on a revaluation of our tourist recipes and in fact we had €10 bn of additional revenue, or nearly €53 bn”, he added.
IFTM Top Resa celebrates 40th edition success
After a hectic last day in Paris, we sat down with Reed Expositions France Director of Tourism Frédéric Lorin and asked for his thoughts on the 40th edition of the show.
Hackathon, the new success stories
The second edition of the Hackathon took place in 2018. It is an initiative organised by IFTM Top Resa and Speedmedia and supported by seven other partners including American Express, the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Committee of Tourism, Welcome City Lab as well as Ieris, the tourism school. The purpose of this event: to give the opportunity to a team usually from a start-up to propose, in a limited duration of 24 hours non-stop, a project in connection with the theme “Artificial intelligence at the service of travellers”.

Arnaud Levet wins best travel agent of France in the 6th travel Agents Cup
Of the 29 candidates selected following the semi-final of the Travel Agents’ Cup, there were only ten – nine women and one man – aiming for the TAC’s victory in the final held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Allianz Travel Arena. After each candidate made a three-minute presentation, it was Arnaud Leven who was elected best travel agent of France 2018. He delivered to IFTM Daily his emotions and impressions.
