La conférence inaugurale d’IFTM a souligné l’importance d’une démarche durable pour le secteur du tourisme, en présence d’Olivia Grégoire, ministre déléguée au Tourisme, de Makram Queisi, ministre du Tourisme et des Antiquités de la Jordanie, pays à l’honneur pour cette édition.
Une certaine solennité imprégnait la conférence inaugurale d’IFTM Top Resa. Dans son discours d’inauguration, Laurence Gaborieau, Directrice d’IFTM Top Resa, a déclaré que l’industrie du voyage créait ce lien vital entre cultures, peuples et rêves. Mais il lui incombe aussi une responsabilité face aux défis qui touchent aujourd’hui l’industrie. Laurence Gaborieau a souligné en particulier l’immense challenge posé par le réchauffement climatique et l’impact environnemental de l’activité des voyages, ainsi que celui que génère désormais le digital – en particulier l’IA.
“Comment être plus durable, quel curseur pour le service, quelle formation pour les acteurs du tourisme, quelle décarbonation pour les transports : autant de sujets que l’industrie du voyage doit relever”, soulignait-elle. Tout en affichant sa confiance envers une industrie qui a su, à travers les crises, montrer sa résilience. C’était aussi le message d’Olivia Grégoire, ministre déléguée chargée du Tourisme. Elle a tenu à exprimer durant l’inauguration toute la confiance dans la capacité de l’industrie du tourisme en France à faire face à tous les challenges, dont la maîtrise du digital.
Les défis du changement climatique se retrouvait dans le discours de François Gemenne, Président du Conseil Scientifique et co-auteur du 6e rapport du GIEC. “Ce que nous avons connu cet été est la nouvelle norme, un phénomène structurel qui va durer. Toute action individuelle, au niveau de l’entreprise, d’une région ou d’un pays est utile contre le changement climatique. Chaque action compte”, martelait-il. Une responsabilité de tous…
Le Panorama international rappelle l’importance d’un tourisme durable et responsable
Le réchauffement climatique implique des changements de comportement dans les voyages. C’est ce qu’a souligné le Panorama International à IFTM Top Resa qui a mis en exergue les bonnes pratiques pour un tourisme durable et responsable.
Il réunissait un panel prestigieux de ministres et ambassadeurs des destinations présentes. Dont Makram Queisi, ministre du Tourisme et des Antiquités de Jordanie, William Rodriguez, ministre du Tourisme du Costa Rica, Kostas Koumis, ministre délégué au Tourisme de Chypre et Caroline Leboucher, Directrice générale d’Atout France.
IFTM Top Resa: an inaugural conference reaffirming the importance of environmental challenges
The IFTM inaugural conference underlined the importance of a sustainable approach for the tourism sector, in the presence of Olivia Grégoire, the French Minister of Tourism, and Makram Queisi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Jordan, this year’s country of honour.
A certain solemnity pervaded the inaugural conference of IFTM Top Resa. In her opening speech, Laurence Gaborieau, Director of IFTM Top Resa, emphasised that the travel industry creates a vital link between cultures, peoples and dreams. But it also has a responsibility to face up to the challenges affecting the industry today. Laurence Gaborieau highlighted in particular the immense challenge posed by global warming and the environmental impact of the travel industry, as well as that now generated by digital technology – in particular AI.
“How can we be more sustainable, what kind of service we should be offering, what kind of training should be provided for those involved in tourism, what kind of decarbonisation of transport: these are all issues that the travel industry needs to address”, she emphasised. At the same time, she expressed her confidence in an industry that has shown its resilience through crisis. This was also the message from Olivia Grégoire, the French Minister of Tourism. During the inauguration, she was keen to express her confidence in the ability of the French tourism industry to face up to all the challenges, including the mastery of digital technology.
The challenges of climate change were echoed in the speech given by François Gemenne, Chairman of the Scientific Council and co-author of the 6th IPCC report. “What we have seen this summer is the new norm, a structural phenomenon that will last. Every individual action, whether at a company, regional or national level, is useful in the fight against climate change. Every action counts”, he stressed. It’s everyone’s responsibility.
International Panorama highlights the importance of sustainable and responsible tourism
Global warming calls for changes in travel behaviour. This was underlined by the International Panorama at IFTM Top Resa, which explored the best practices for sustainable and responsible tourism.
This conference brought together a prestigious panel of ministers and ambassadors from the destinations present. These included Makram Queisi, Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, William Rodriguez, Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, Cyprus’ Deputy Minister of Tourism and Caroline Leboucher, CEO of Atout France.
